Can anyone speak to Xero's temperament and how it passed on to his progency? Serious police and protection dogs or sporty or mixture of both? What was he known for contributing to his offspring, good & bad?

Excellent dog fro bringing good work ethic and good aggression into a breeding....have to be careful with hips when using him.

So what you are saying is he has/had good "prey" as well as "defense". Would you say 50/50? Do you have any of his offspring or have first hand of one?

Never got to meet him, but observed a daughter in training, and owned a grand daughter.  No bad hips from her four litters.

Here's a little write up on him...

Daryl, thank you. So that is not just a "marketing ad"; you are in agreement with that article based on your experience with his progeny? Thank you for your input.

I agree that Xero provided to his progeny great enthusiasm to work and strong desire to please the handler.  The article was written by a breeder I had done business with frequently, and co-written by a member of my former schutzhund club.  I have no special interest in promoting this line, but it offered one of the few sources in czech lines at the time that contained the necessary components for a successful sporting prospect.  Grim bloodlines aside, my other (old-style) czech dogs were far too dull on the field to bring any competitive success.

Daryl, I appreciate your input.  Can you speak to his defense and aggression side?  Was he a "fighter"?

If you're seeking strong social aggression, then I believe it was necessary for Xero's mate to bring that to the table.  My Xero grandaughter was crazy for bitework, sport-competitive, but not what I would call socially aggressive.  Her name was Electra z Eurosportu, and some video can be found of her if you're interested.

Yes, that is what I was looking for.  If anyone is of a different opinion, please let it be known.
thanks again.
