My pup Annabell is now 4 months old and in the middle of teething. Both adult #2 incisors came in but are sitting behind the baby ones. Both baby incisors are still sitting very thight without a ted of looseness. This kind of concerns me, as her sisters ones are completely out.
When should I think about having to pull them so the adult incisors can move into place? Anyone with experience on this?

As the incisors grow they will push the baby teeth out, it is far too early to think of having them removed.

My Cousin's cross lab just had two baby canines removed by surgery. I've heard this happens often. The vet told my cousin if he didn't have the teeth removed his dog would go overshot because the adult canines need to be in the right place to prevent the top jaw from going wrong ,sometimes he said the adult teeth can go into the roof of the mouth when the baby teeth make them grow up straight instead of growing at the right angle. The vet said the baby teeth need to be out by 5.5. months.

I experienced this recently for the first time in 30 years of breeding and was advised by my vet to have the baby ones removed. They were certainly very firmly in place and showing no sign of budging. The adult teeth were through for a few weeks by the time I had the baby ones taken out and they were already growing in the wrong direction but fortunately they were caught early enough to correct themselves naturally.
My vet said that baby teeth left in will normally cause some distortion in the mouth - usually overshot or interfering with the position of the adult teeth. He said that if baby teeth are not out within a few days of the adult ones coming through it is best to get them out and I trust him not to resort to surgery unnecessarily.

I am going through this now. I have a very nice imported working line puppy who retained puppy teeth. I was watching and was concerned. There was a retained puppy tooth behind the left top adult canine. There were 2 puppy canines on each side of the lower adult canines. I had them pulled, but this will mess up her bite. Now I have consulted a dentist which may be needed to do a root canal on one lower adult canine that may not correct. One is going to as they moved in the 2 wks of the pulling. Way too old to still have them in, over 6 months. I was watching the top and the top came out at about 5 1/2 months. The bottom were hidden by the lower lip flaps. my fault. I swore they were out. The rest of the mouth is fine. Molars line up on both sides as they should and bite is fine in front. Dentist said not genetic if all else falls in place and said retained puppy teeth should never be in past 5 months of age. Hope that answers you. These puppy teeth came out easily for the vet but when I tried to wiggle them, they seemed in there tight. Tight enough to act like a wedge and cause the lower adult canine to come in more straight up than angling out.
I had this happen 12 yrs ago and at 5 months I had one lower pulled that a male retained.
It will never happen again! This was an expensive lesson. Vet said that he cannot do a root canal until about 10 months but will have to do a partial root canal if there is palette damage and they are only 80% successful. He is hoping the teeth move. I don't know if the one lower canine can move as the upper canine might be in the way due to the baby canine that was behind it and caused it to move slightly forward.
Of all the things I worry about and watch, I can't believe I screwed up on this.
Good Luck. On a good note, prelim hip films while under, looked good.
