Ok... getting ready to do my first BH on a dog (I have done AKC Obedience for more then 15 years). I was reading the rules and it says they are looking for a Left About Turn. I think it is when the handler turns into the dog and the dog goes around the back of the handler landing back in the fuss position but others I have asked say no, the dog never leaves the handlers side and they turn left together. From my AKC experience we would consider the first the "Left About" and the second a "Left U" Turn.
Can someone clearify this for me?

There are 2 types of about turns in schutzhund, but you must do the same turn throughout. You can do either the German About, where the handler pivots as the dog passes around behind the handler; or you can do the FCI About where both dog and handler pivot.
NO U TURNS ALLOWED !!
