Is there a microchip (in the US) that can be read by all readers? My dog has a chip, however the readers here will not pick it up (too many digits for the readers). So, I am going to have another chip put in when she gets her hips filmed.

I have been told that there is a "Universal scanner" you can buy, but it costs close to 400.00... this is just what I have been told by a person who was a trial judge

So I just take my scanner with me? The price of the scanner about half of what I paid for the dog. lol.
