hey i was just wondering do dgs go through any special changes during this time?
I am watching leerburg dvds i bought and he often mentions 18 months when he talks
is it that some working dogs may mature as early as 18 months? be at their full potential as early as this age? with certain lines that is? \\
also this is a off topic question but what age do gsd usually start off as street patrol dogs?

At the risk of being crass! 18 mo is what I call the testical phase in my working dogs they are running around thinking I have them, I have them have no idea what to do with them, periodically u need to remind them you aren't impressed. And yes it is fine as long as socialized and trained well to start out trained for the street. Relax have fun w your dog if trained for street you will have a not so flattering nick name for him at times it will be out of adoration on your part! HAVE FUN
