Axel's preliminary hip X ray at 13 months of age. Both his parents have  SV a1 rated hips.

left hip (right side of xray) looks good. Right side socket looks to be a little shallow, but the dog is positioned poorly, so that could be why.

Thanks Rik- yeah I wasn't too pleased with the positioning- or the price $65.00....plus $30.00 to have OFA give him a preliminary diagnosis. But I guess it's better than nothing.....lol

IMHO this is not a good Xray. The left hip is not shown well.

Too crooked to evaluate IMO.

I agree, bad x-ray,
I paid $450.00 for a crappy x-rays before, now I drive 2 hours for the best.
Do it over if you haven't mailed them in yet, if you already mailed them in "Stuck with it"!

Sorry, that what the kids say.....

Was you dog awake when you took the x-ray?, that's a very low price.

The x-ray is not symmetrical...............

The dog is tilted in this x-ray. I would NOT have accepted, nor would I have sent for evaluation, SORRY if they have already been sent.

I would ask the vet to redo them at no charge to you.

Well to be honest guys this is the first time I'd had anything like this done. The vet I used was checking out a swollen paw pad on the dog- turns out he had a small piece of glass in there that had set up infection and had to be irrigated out. So the dog was supposedly under sedation for the irrigation process and that is why I requested a preliminary hip xray. I was NOT present, my wife was though.  The vet assured me that they were familiar with the OFA process and that they routinely took hip xrays for evaluation- though most of their patients are labradors though-(an xray on a sedated dog should be an xray though.....lol) This is just a blown up digital version of the actual xray. I feel really like I might have been duped by my vet which really makes me mad......angry

Thanks to all who have looked at and commented on the xray.
