I can honestly say everything I am that is decent and honorable I learned from my dogs.  From my dogs (as a child) I learned that having power does not mean you have to use it.  From my dogs I learned unconditional love.  From my dogs I learned what it means to give with no expectation of getting.  From my dogs I learned courage.  From my dogs I learned loyalty.  From my dogs I learned joy.  From my dogs, I learned forgiveness.  Over the years my dogs have provided companionship, have saved my life, have forced me to be a better person, a more patient person because they deserved no less.

Wondering how you think you lives are better off because of your dogs.

My current dog has taught me self-control, patience, how to calm myself when I'm frustrated, how to say f&*k it and romp around when things get too stressful.
She has taught me that sometimes, all a profoundly depressed person needs is someone to sit next to them quietly and be there.

What my dogs have taught me is...

...... that I need human friends less and less all the time..: )

My dogs have taught me the true essence of unconditional love. What companionship truly means. The raw simplicity of "I am happy to see you" I would tell people that dogs don't think and rationalize like humans do. So when someone walks out the door you know they will be back in so many minutes, after work etc; But the dog doesn't so when he/she hears you, your vehicle and the excitement starts and then the grand finale when you open the door!

If you ever just take a few minutes and do nothing but observe them with no interaction by you and just see how they think and work they are amazing animals. And to see how they are and act when they are content. So simple!

One of my dogs is the happiest dog, every single day of the year. His tail constantly wags and he reminds me that there is joy in everything he does. He is so proud of himself when he brings me my slippers, picks up the socks and takes them to the hamper, scares away the critters in the backyard and all with a wag and happy go lucky smile. Even when Im not in the mood, he comes and lays his head on me and tells me its ok. What could be better than that. smiley

My dogs have taught me to live in the now, to be picky about who I choose to hang out with and that when you love someone, the simple act of lighting up when they walk through a door makes them feel special. I've learned that sometimes words are over rated and loyalty and love are best shown with your actions and that no matter how much time I have with my boys, it's never enough so I try to make everyday count
