Has anyone else ever experienced this?

My 9 month old female GSD, who has never had an accident in the house before, has suddenly started peeing on the living room rug the second she's let in the house. As soon as she's let in, she runs wildly around the living room, bam! she pees on the rug, and then slinks (ie. submissive body posture) off to her crate (this happened three times this week before I could do anything). She's been exercised and "done her business" before she was let in the house. I'm completely baffled at what's going on. And yes ...I thoroughly cleaned the rug with an enzyamtic cleaner each time. Grr!

Has she been to the vet?
Possible bladder infection. Mine always do weird things like that when they have a bladder issue:)

Cats will urinate outside the litter box when they have a bladder infection because they associate the litter box with the discomfort of the infection...Maybe your female has associated her normal potty area with some type of discomfort...Just a thought...: )

I have been around women my whole life. I'm not going to even try to understand a female dog. Remember, females hold a grudge. You probably pissed her off when she was 8 wks old! Just kiddin'! As everyone said, get her checked out, the crack out the lead pipe!

Could she be coming into her first heat and marking her area.

I was gonna say..... sounds like heat behaviour. Has she been in heat yet? Mine do the stupidest things while coming into, being in or coming out of heat...most common being finding some obscure place to make a mess; either urinating or depositing a pile, nevermind that they were just outside & DID the deed there, too....I dunno why, doesn't matter that the area was scrubbed with enzymes, Lysol or whatever the last time! They are the most determined, stubborn, mystifying creatures God has ever constructed. They must have a reason, I do not know what it is! But making a nasty goes with the territory, I accept this, clean it up & scold them, take them to the vets, get a clean bill of health; & go through it all over again next time. And they do act all guilty, like they KNOW they are screwing up, so WHY I do not know. And in between heat cycles they are model citizens. So go figure. My hubby says they want pups. I say HELL no! Good luck! jackie harris (BTW- my older bitch does not participate in this behaviour-just the two 3 year olds who have not had litters, & will probably be spayed [1 of them for sure]before they ever do!)

Thank-you for all the suggestions.

She's spayed (she came from a litter of 11 puppies!) so she can't be coming into heat. I'll take her to the vet today and pray for a bladder infection - I'm guessing that's easier to deal with than her trying to communicate a message to me via urinating on my lovely living room rug (thank goodness it's a polyolefin). She's spending the rest of the day tied to my husband ...he's wondering why he's the one being punished.

Sounds like a bladder infection, ours did the same thing when she would have one would come over to me head down pee right in front of me and run for it.  She had 3 bladder infections under a year of age then not one and now she's 8.  Hoping its a bladder infection! Easy cure.

Is the picture in the avatar the culprit.  If so she looks very mischievous.
