In linebreeding, as far as I know, resembles a form of inbreeding but distant. In other words you are linebreeding on a particular dog, not getting too close, with the addition of a partner that will enhance the line.
I, for one, like the Fero line. But as Fero disappears in the background, another distant offspring, in line of Fero, takes its place. If you read the writing on conversation with Koos, you will hear him talk about the prey drive that Fero brings to the table. Now a line off the Grief line could strengthen the Fero line, with some hardness. Of course there is the nicking factor that has to be consider along with other health issues....hips, elbows, etc.
I like the Fero, Grief, Orry combination. This seems to me to work best. I see intense drive for both prey and defense, with a body size that is not overly massive with good grips. IMO!

Take Orry as an example. Should i ever go to breeding Dogs that is one Fellow i would like to base it on, but the problem being with me is if i get round to it the generations would be very far removed from the Original Dog, But i can dream. Funny Koos was mentioned i was talking to him only the other day

You ask why, but you yourself have not said why you favour
Rocky von den Zingilgarten, I for one am interested to know why you like him not counting his father of course, just Rocky

the 4-5-5 on troll wont help you to improve the pups quality if the parents are crap
if you want to linebreed on a certain dog you want to have at least certain qualities of the dog your linebreeding on in the parents of your pups , otherwise its nothing more than linebreeding on paper

what can any one say about the great Orry, WUSV Champion 3 times and a 5th Place as well, and he passed his greatness on to his Progeny and those afterwards. and not only that he won the WUSV with Two different handlers, which to me shows how versatile the Dog was

Is the 2nd too extreme concidering the amount of close line breeding. Opinnion ?.
Is keeping the genetics available from the 2nd breeding worth the risk of pooling less desirable issues ?.

Duke and Jadron, I'm not disputing that there is the possibility that breeding from parents that are crappy, although lined on troll, could produce crappy results. That is a whole new argument and one that is not relevant to this conversation. Genetics is a wide open statement and for you both to make that conclusion is irresponsible. If you go down this line of argument then look into the generation skip results from various animal breedings that have resulted in excellent offsprings. As I said that is a whole new topic.
Now to the topic. Linebreeding. Well duke, your definition and mine is nowhere different. In terms of the posting, I gave my opinion on what I like as a line and why.
The thing about some of you guys is that you are so quick to crucify people on the thread but give no real answers to anything.
I like this breeding.

Why? It is a prime example of what I spoke about. As i mentioned, linebreeding eventually will get to inbreeding if your pool of selection is small. This breeding hinges on that. But I like it and guess what? It still works. Dispute that!
Bob I like your recent breeding. I like the Orry on both sides and the Troll on both sides. Please note, there is another Fero in the background via Yoshy. Explain why you would have included this in the breeding. The tiekerhook line in right there via Carmen...KNPV denoting a sense of very hard .....Female!
I would like to see the postings stay on que?? if possible. State what and why? Simple english composure of thought! What, where and the why. Maybe a bit too complicated.
