Ive been searching high and low for info on my GSD, we got told that that shes not a full GSD, but 3/4 and there not sure what the 1/4 is . My vet has said if we had never told him he would have said shes a full GSD but the seller proberly didnt have the papers for her..

Here are some photos of Lola - Please can you advise weather u can see any other type of dog in her,

Thank you,

Who told you she's not full GSD?  The breeder?  I'm no expert but she looks like a full GSD to me.  Just a long coat.

If you want to be sure, just do DNA testing.  75% gsd and 25% other can still look full gsd.

Did you get your pup from a breeder?  Who is it that told you she was not pure GSD?

Looks like a LSC to me too, hard to tell for sure at that age, however, one thing is for sure she's a cutie.  Enjoy her. :)

I was told DNA testing could only validate the sire/dam of a puppy, but not its pedigree...  I was faced with a similar situation, but turned it down because of never being able to know for sure.   Turned out, didn't need DNA, they were obviously not full GSD's after a few weeks being born.  This one-not so obvious, but still very cute pup.  I'm partial to long coats, too.  Good Luck!

Thank you for your replies, We thought she was long coat but the other puppies had short fur, is this this possible?

This is where I open a can of worms. We bought her from a Local pet store, we didnt plan too - but after seeing her and seeing the price she was going for we just  could not resist. It was the store that told us, and advertised as 3/4 German Shepard

I will keep you all updated with her progress with pics and Info, and looking forward to being active on this forum

here she is saying Hello

Thanks once again :-), Gaz and Lola

Where you get your puppies is your choice but petstores normaly buy from puppymills. my Advice is keep a close eye on her health and be sure to get OFAs at 2 years. puppymills dont care about breeding and in most shepherds you pay for what you get and i am going to say again In Most Shepherds. not all some people feel they are good enough to sell a poorly bred shepherd for thousands.

but do keep a eye on her health she could be a mix but who knows only way to tell would be to like go and get a DNA they have them at petstores to see what your mutt is. i personaly wanted too try one on my Czech male to see if they are just bs or true.

Goodluck with your litte one

hope both of you live long healthy lives :D

Thank you, we have had her checked at a few vets and all is fine, she weighed around 7kg at 12 weeks and shes now 16 weeks and easily weighs over 10kg .

Shes learning a few tricks, eating very well and loves to play fetch and meet new people.

I understand about the "puppy farms" we just fell in love with her !

Well every puppy deserves a good home, and I'm glad she's got one.  It is very possible for one pup to be longcoated in a litter of stock coated puppies.  I have one from such a litter. laugh

The longcoat gene is recessive.

I'd bet she is purebred.  Keep us posted as she grows, the LSC are beautiful IMHO.
