I am seriously considering getting a puppy from the Kirschental kennel in Germany. I would greatly appreciate any opinions on their operation.

Thanks,

Frogman

I spoke to her last year about a puppy- found her difficult to deal with- she tells me about a nice pup then sells it away to a friend.
Good Luck.

Don't know the kennel owners, but I've seen a Kirschental dog that was imported. Loved the dog, although he was slightly oversized. Very hard, stable, not nervous. Good grips, nose sucking in the dirt on tracking, very bold. Excellent dog all around and with great pigment.

My two current dogs are from Kirschental.   Both pups were exactly as represented, the transactions were both very smooth, the pups have turned into extremely healthy dogs, and I found Marion Fuller extremely easy to deal with.

You do need to understand that much of what they produce may not find favor with the current SV judging regime, which seems to favor a super-lengthy sidegait and thus more angulation.*    But if you are looking for a healthy, energetic yet highly trainable/loyal GSD, they do produce quite a few of those, and I'll look to them in the future for any additional dogs.  PM me if you want further info.

* Although I would challenge any of the current VA dogs and bitches to keep up with my female, who spends the entire day patrolling my yard and probably runs/trots 30 or more miles a day doing it, rain and snow notwithstanding.

Donald summed up my thoughts completely.  I have a Kirschental girl who has incredible stamina and health beyond anything I have ever had before.  She is stable and loves to work.  Marion Fueller was very efficient in her dealings and I would buy from Kirschental again in a heartbeat.  My girl will never win in the show ring but when it comes to health and nerve she is top of the line.

Hello Frogman,
I have owned Kirschental dogs since 1999, when I imported my first Kirschental dog (pup out of
Neptun).....since 2001,  I have imported 5 adult titled females directly from Karl and Marion Füller
Kirschental), sight unseen, and always got exactly what I asked for and each dog was also exact;y how I was told they would be.  It is sometimes not the case when dealing with kennels sight unseen.
I also had two other Kirschental dogs, acquired elsewhere. Makes EIGHT Kirschental dogs : )
They are very easy to work with and honest!
Kirschental lines themselves, offer high intelligence, outstanding stamina, very good drives, easy trainability and very good structure to MOVE for long periods.  Due to the strong females herding lines of Kirschental, this is very consistent.  They are beautiful as well!  They may not always make the top podiium position, as they are not "extreme", but if you are looking for a GSD that has  what a GSD should have, along with excellent temperament, you are safe with Kirschental dogs.  Be sure to specify exactly WHAT you are looking for and what you plan to do with your pup : )
All my breeding females are Kirschental or direct descendants thereof.  I can breed with confidence as they are very consistent in what/how they produce.  I hope to bring in another young adult female later this  year, knowing I will NOT be disappointed.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.
Good Luck : )

I am also curious about this kennel;  how about hip/elbow cerf's;  DM, longevity??  I have a friend wanting to go thru them for a puppy as well as myself and am very interested in any info you can share.  Thank you  Nan

Jacko is from Faras' first litter.     I would do it over and over and over again.

Just watch the temperament - at times it can be rather sharp.
