Here are a couple bitework vids of my boy-Judge. No editing done as you'll be able to see his scre-ups...the dirty dog.

<object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NE57ZAK_Z-s?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NE57ZAK_Z-s?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>

You'll see him get dirty in this one....he was supposed to reveir. He gets dirty in them periodically just I think to test the waters especially with newer decoys and decoys that he hasn't seen in awhile!

Thanks for posting the videos... he is coming along good. The long bite was nice. The hold and bark was very dirty..hehe. I would go back to putting Judge on a long line and make the send to the hold and bark alot shorter. So that you can correct him for being dirty. I will say the longer they get away with that it is really hard to correct... I speak from experience on that one.

Thanks Jyl. That was the first time in a LONG time since he had gotten dirty...the next time he was on a long line. lol lol He's a bastard sometimes. lol We went back to a long line on him for now and he'll continue to have a long line till he is solid in the H&B...I thought we were over that nonsense.

This dog keeps me on my toes.

Hi Jennifer:  He looks like a really fun dog.  It's clear you are working hard at training.

You have your terminology mixed up a little bit.  The long bite involves the helper running towards the dog in an aggressive manner.  Your second video is a chase bite, which is completely different from the dogs perspective, but it was a nice chase bite!

Regarding the Hold & Bark, to me it looks like the dog isn't so much dirty as he is confused and doesn't understand the exercise.  This dog is too green to be working without a long line, as has already been pointed out, so that's handler error.  I  know that it's not easy, but you need to pay a little bit more attention to the dog and learn to read him better.  When you saw him creeping it should have been a dead giveaway that he wasn't going to do a hold and bark but would grip, since you had no way to correct him, and since he already was not correct, you shouldn't have sent him, handler error.  Also when your dog went in for the grip instead of the hold and bark, you told him to out, then after he outed you told him "phooey", so you  corrected him for doing what you asked.  Thats a BIG handler error  no no!!  I know you were reacting to the dog gripping but you just can't do this kind of stuff,  it only results in an even more confused dog.  The dog is not doing any "nonsense" he is just confused.

Anyway that's just my .02
