Can someone tell me what to think of this kennel? Does anyone have a pup from them?

I was pretty set on getting a pup from there, when the time comes, but I then read on here that their main male, Ugo, is a cryptorchid?

Their site is www.swnebraska.com if that helps. (and I'm in love with one of their male pups - so cute!)

Thanks for your thoughts...

That is seriously the greatest website I have ever seen. You are right, those pups are awesome. There is no way that you should not get a puppy from them. Don't worry about the cryptorchid thing, that actually has nothing to do with testicles, it is a small and easily prevented parasite.

How awesome is this site ? It is like the F U  pet finder. I will go over this more tomorrow, as what a great scam they have going on.  These are tough economic times.

Do you have any proof "ugo" is a cryp?( not i heard it from another breeder..ASK THE BREEDER)  If the male indeed is a cryp, steer clear bells and whistles should be going off in your head.  I no nothing about the dog myself but ALOT of folks on here like to blatantly lie about other kennels dogs.  My concern would be that none of the dogs are titled.  However if you just want a pet they look like happy healthy pups.  I would go to the vets in their area and ask about the health of the pups they have seen.  Then ask the breeder for referances from past pup buyers.  DO NOT TAKE ANY INFORMATION ON THIS FORUM AS GOSPEL!!!!  do your due dilegence and research yourself.

Ask the breeder about the testicle thing.  If you are just wanting a pet and would neuter anyway...the surgery may cost a little more...depends on what you are wanting to do with the dog.

There is a link to the user comments about the dog. It appears that the owner or at least someone called 'Sehr Gut Wesen' defending but not denying it.

I had talked to the breeder a few times - Ugo had been taken off the site for awhile and when I asked her about it, she said that he had gone sterile, but apparently the vet read it wrong. During that time they got their other male, Tribute. However I have yet to see him b e used.

For awhile they just had 3 females and Ugo, and the fact that these dogs aren't titled, I kinda started to think she was just breeding to breed.

Another thing that made me doubt her, was the fact that after I had been talking to her for awhile, I asked her what she thought about types of training and from that point I never heard from her again. But looking at her testimonials and such, it looks like a few of her pups have gone on to work... a few K-9's even.

I want a pet, yes, but I also want to get into competeing as well.... confirmation, agility, Schutzhund... whether or not I get my pet spayed or neutered, I don't know. I'm not exactly wanting to breed my dog, but if I feel s/he could improve the breed, etc., I would consider it.

Probably not the kennel for you then.  If you want a dog to compete with go to a kennel that breeds to compete.
