when you keep 2 puppies together they play by grabbing each other by ear lick each other’s ear licking will cause yeast infection and the ears will go floppy. Keep the ears clean and dry it’s a good idea to clean ears with an over the counter ear cleaning solution. Keep them separated if you let them play together watch who is grabbing the ear, don’t allow them to grab each other’s ears. Give them calcium pill 2 a day for each dog lots of bones. Don’t give up on tapping and if need be glue a piece of Foam to the inside of the ear. (Otherwise they will stay down)

Were there ears EVER both erect? If so I would not be so worried IF they are now doing a flip flop??? I
yes infection, growth sprouts, nutrition and other things can impact....but honestly and typically the dogs ears should be errect, and taping German Shepherds ears masks any potential we may have for weeding out genetic defaults..
I too would not be so quick to jump to one source as the culprit, but would not rule the combination out.
I like the suggestion of giving the calcium.(tums?) You may also give added Vit C...or Knox ultra joint something like that that has all of it...sometimes in larger boned or bigger headed ones it may take longer to go up.
My vote is NO ARTIFICIAL ERECTIONS......only natural.
