What if you had a dog that would not go into defense easily?  The dogs stands it's ground with the helper and barks, the helper comes on strong and the dog barks, but is not in true defense.  What would you have to do to get your dog into defense?

How old is the dog?  What stage of training is the dog at that you are seeking defense?  What type of group are you training with? Training in defence incorrectly or at the wrong age can be a very bad thing.

Didn't you post the same question on the General Topic side?

What does the National Level helper say? I'm not saying this is the case, but not all trial helpers are great teaching/training helpers.

Don,
can't you just stick with one thread?  I get tired jumping back and forth to read your comments on two threads.

No. We are two separate people. The Don of the GT board is clueless! Don't even get me started about the one on the Malinois board.

I'm glad to hear that there are two seperate people.  The one on the GT side is a putz.

Don, maybe you can ask the one on the mal side if he's single for me? I hear he's a hottie.

Fordogs- how old is the dog? How much training has it had? How do you know the dog is not defensive? What is the dog being trained for? How experienced is your decoy in training dogs for whatever your goals are? And most importantly, why on earth would you ask on the internet for a how-to? Asking people you do not know how to make your dog more defensive....yikes. Be careful with that.
