Take him to the vet as suggested. To much food, a change of food or adding something to the pups existing diet can also cause the runs. Good luck.

hello geraldine, unless you have been feeding the pup whatever comes off the table, it is more than likely a parasite.

If he was good for 11 weeks and diet has not been changed, then it is most likely an external issue. take him to the vet.

best,
Rik

there is a table towards the bottom of the page...

Table 2. Causes, Diagnosis and Treatment of Diarrhea in Dogs

Change in diet (what was the breeder feeding?)
Food intolerance or sensitivity (does new diet work with puppy?)
intestinal parasites - roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, coccidia, giarida (very common!)
Bacterial infection - salmonella, e. coli, etc (raw food or trash)
Viral infections - Parvovirus, Distemper, Coronavirus (has puppy had its shots?)
Toxins - lead, zink, arsenic (what has puppy been chewing one?)
Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (not likely)
Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (not likely)

Lots of stuff cause the runs.......best go to the vet and find out what's going on......
coccidia and giarida are everywhere - bird poop, standing water, mud, etc.

Take your puppy to the vet ASAP - 3 days of the runs is a long time. Pup could easily become dehydrated
