Hi, my all black workingline male has mated my black and tan showline female.  Can anyone hazard a guess as to what colour the puppies may be.  I might add, this was not an intentional mating, I did not realise she was in season but he did the randy so and so.

why does it matter if they are purple?
you said it was an accident
shoot them all with a 22 and it matters not
what color they are.

What a dork-ball response!

To the OP, you're going to come under fire here for admitting to an oops litter, but accidents do happen. I'm sure you'll be more in tune with your females cycles & won't let it happen again. That being said, I don't know what colors you'll get, but I'm sure you'll be busy finding them all good, happy, forever homes! I hope your bitch has no problems & that you have a nice healthy litter of adorable pups! Keep us posted & good luck! jackie harris

I believe black and tan is dominant over black so you will get black and tan puppies.  If your female carries the black recessive, then you may have black puppies too. But not sure if there is still a chance of the black recessive still being carried by the show lines, since black and tan has been the dominant colour in the show lines for upteen generations.

"shoot them all with a 22 and it matters not"

Now that is mean spirited and uncalled for!!!

What a waste of ammo - instead, save it for the owner of the dogs who allowed the accident to happen!

why was that a dork ball response?
it is a blunt truthful answer
if one cant figure out 6th grade genetics through the internet
they shouldnt keep an unplanned unwanted unnecessary litter

Melanistic black and tan, although color should be the least of your concerns at this point.

Even if they were mutts, thats uncalled for!  Accidents happen, and even if they are just sold or given to pet homes, they are still living, breathing puppies and should not be shot!

Miami's teenage serial cat killer exhibits the same early behaviors as Jeffrey Dahmer, Albert DeSalvo and others who went on to commit crimes of serial murder and rape.

Experts agree that the torture and/or murder of animals may be a sign that the perpetrator could eventually turn their violent behavior towards other people.

so are you saying culling an unwanted litter
is worse than giving them to people who may not want then 6 months later?
culling now leads to serial killing?
shooting a pup with a 22 is not torture,
this is exactly why we have such an overpopulation
cull the litter!!!!!!!
