We were feeding our 2 year old female GSD a combination of 1 cup EVO, 150 grams of either cooked beef or chicken, and a 70% mixture of cooked veggies and and 30 % brown rice or oatmeal, total weight, less the EVO, 700 grams each meal.
She started to have loose stools, but not all the time. So we stopped giving her EVO and increased her beef or chicken to 250 gr. per meal and increased the others by about 200 gr.
I read in a blog awhile ago that an active dog should be fed about 3% of its weight. Been searching for that article but can't seem to find it.
Where I'm going with this is, i'm considering switching to either Petcurean's "Now" brand grain free or Orijen grain free, to once again supplement her diet and hopefully get rid of her sometime loose stools. This will save us both money and time spent in the kitchen....
I've never felt comfortable with the amount of meat we have been giving her. I believe it enough but maybe to much...
Looking forward to some positive replies....
