When I was with Animal Control we tried for months to catch 2 Shepherd pups in the dead of winter. We finally got 1 and I landed up adopting him.(go figure!!!) He too ,had a pink nose and we thought we would just have to deal with it since nobody including the vet knew why. After a few months it went away and never came back.
site will not allow me to post pics right now or I would have showed you before and after pics.

It has always turned back to solid black by spring......we use stainless bowls also.
*However; a zinc deficiency can also cause a "pigment loss" on nose & lips.*...be sure the food being fed is solid in nutrition.
