Hello everyone,

I am a avid reader of the PDB but I do not post often. I was hoping for some insight on a pedigree. I am trying very hard to learn how to properly decipher them but was hoping for some help. I *think* I have an idea as to what is going on but I was hoping some others with more knowledge and experience would lend an eye. I very much appreicate it.

It is my understanding that Grim is known for passing on bad hips but if coupled with a dam who has a strong hip rating in her pedigree that it should be okay. I also know that I very much adore Dargo Ha-Ja-Da from watching videos and dicussion with those who have his prodegy.

I currently have a working/show combination male who I am training in SchH and dabbling in agility with but would like my next dog to have a higher drive and more of a work ethic (not so hard to motivate).

I very much appreicate your help and time.

I own a Dargo Ha-Ja-Da daughter & she is the perfect GSD to me. She has tons of drive, fast full grips, natural tracker, very healthy with OFA good hips & normal elbows. She is wonderful with children, animals, & other dogs. She is very openly social. All welcomed visitors will get greeted with kisses by her. Yet she is very protective when need to be. Most people fall in love with her that meet her.
Her temperament is stable enough to train in SCH, SAR, & visits physically / mentally disable children in therapy work. She is so easy to handle & train my God son is working with her in agility too.

If at all possible try to get a Dargo Ha-Ja-Da mix with Arys z Travnickova dvora lines. I feel this makes the golden mix, like my girl. The dogs have such super high willingness to please their handlers, very easy to train, need little corrections, have good nerves, stable temperaments, excellent all around health, plus lots of drive for any type of work / sport. They also have very nice structure, just all around nice dogs.

I've heard the same rumor about Gim with hips also, but I've had a few dogs that were lined bred off Grim, & all had very good hips. None had any EPI / DM / ear infections / allergies / chronic digestive issues, etc.. all were just very healthy hardy dogs. Now a days it's hard to find Grim in any pedigree closer than the 3rd generation also so his genetic influences is reduced.

You should speak with Hans from Alphine Kennel & Dari / Anne from Van Den Heuvel they both own many dogs from Dargo.
