Went inside to switch out dogs and someone stole my bicycle with the K9 dog jogger attachment.

The thieves are out there looking for a few extra bucks for Christmas..........

Just a friendly reminder to everyone out there to be extra vigilant this time of the year......

Sorry to know your bike was stolen, tell you what cheer up that is better than stealing your puppy which has become a common practice round here. thanks for the aler.

We have a padlock on the main gate - 6 ft industrial chain link - all dog runs are padlocked and no one is ever left outside when we are not right here.  It is a sad thing when we have to live like this.

this is the only reason I have not placed my rescued aussie.  no one comes near our drive or vehichles without her having a fit, lol.  my shepherds might bark, but generally are not aggressive.  we are the only house in our neighborhood which has not been burglarized or had our gas taken from the trucks.

lived here for 25+ years, and never had to worry about theives till the past 2 yrs.  last year, my neighbor caught someone trying to steal his mower, so he tied his boxer out by the shed, next morning the mower was gone and the dog was dead from  having his head bashed in.  other neighbors have said that their dogs are being let out of their fences and people are going in trying to steal stuff.

Ngh... this is why I support the Right to Bear Arms in the US; however it's getting to the point where if my dog bit someone breaking into my house -- or I took a shot at someone who had broken in was threatening my family -- then I'd be the one getting in trouble. Not to get all political, but if someone crosses the line onto my turf, and is clearly not stopping by for afternoon tea, then it should be my right to deter them with force matching their own.

Ideally I'd just like to have the dogs put 'im in a bark'n'hold till the cops arrive, but disbarring that peaceful solution, I should be able to escalate force as needed, and not worry about getting sued for protecting my own.

That is horrible.  I hate thieves.

by SitasMom on 05 November 2010 - 22:11

Thanks everyone.

I have to put the dogs left behind in their crates or they act like idots when I take one on a bike ride. Jyota is the worst, she wants to go so badly, she will slam herself against the door. I just finished 2 miles with Hanny,  detached her and went in to put her up and to get Hero and in the few monents it took to switch out dogs, my bike was stolen... All of the crated dog were excited and barking (me, me, can I be next, pick me) so I didn't notice what was happening outside.  I'm going to have to get another setup soon, they've got so much energy when they dont there there daily run.

Love the sign too and the all the teeth and wild eyes in the photo is wonderful.....

Anyway - its good to remember petty crimes increase and we all need to be extra careful during the Holiday Shopping season.

Sorry to hear about your bike being stolen.  Hero is back from training?  Is he titled now?
