Please beware of a desperate woman looking for a donated GSD puppy / dog to be her son's autism service dog.
This woman has been rejected / not willing to work with many other service dog agency's. Her son does have autism & MR, with a string of behavior issues. Due to this the son is on the verge of being  placed in a group home. This is a sad situation which I was more than happy to try to help. But the situation became very odd, & obvious any dog / puppy would not be placed is a safe permanent home, or ever be handle effectively enough to certify as a service dog team with this family.  She has unrealistic expectations for the dog, has not secure a long term housing which allows dogs, unwilling to participate in training, & do fund raising for the service dog agencies. But she will claim she can now do this for your dog. She'll prefer the dog unaltered &  promises to have it altered herself. She is looking for a free dog / puppy that a novice trainer will get certified in her area.

I don't want to disclose all the details it's too involved, but if she has contacted you please beware & get references! You may PM for more details on this issue.

It might be the same person, she is expanding her search area & has relatives in the area also in Florida.
But there are so many needy families, it could be someone else also.

I donate dogs / puppies to service dog agencies & police. When she contacted me it first seem everything was on the up & up. Autistic service dogs normally can cost a family from $6K - $20K. Most families can't afford these dogs & must then fund raise for the dog. There are many needy families out there that they just lack the means or time for the fund raising. I will donate a fully train dog to such families. I don't have an issue of this woman not able to afford the service dog. Her back ground check, obvious half truths, lack of ability to train or follow directions, her son's behavioral issues will place a dog in danger, & not having the basic living arrangement which will allow a dog, & wanting an unaltered dog with papers all are the very basic concerns. There are many more.

This person lives in Ny state, she'll have a heavy smokers weezy voice over the phone. She'll talk your ear off when she talks to you. She'll tell you about her 3 kids, but you'll never hear children in the back ground.
That is all I'm willing to say online.

She did contact a friend of mine in Florida looking for a service dog. Thankfully, my friend is smart enough to know when she's being scammed.  And she was very persistant...

I'm not sure if this is the same woman. But, a woman contacted me and claimed she was looking for a female GSD puppy so the puppy could grow up with her autistic son. She was very adamant about having a female too. She said her autistic son liked to run off and their property had lake access. She also said that he had several other mental issues. Then she then went onto say how she had another puppy prior, but it ran off and was most likely picked up by someone on the highway. Then she mentioned having an older (4-6 month old) GSD that showed aggression to her son and other children and she took it back to the breeder. She didn't mention me donating the puppy, but it could very well be because I didn't give her a chance too. Her whole story was very fishy and I stopped responding to her.

I forgot to mention. I am located in Arkansas.

Wow, I hope it's not the same person because then it'll be more lies. She is going to ruin many bridges for truely needy families out there that need a loyal friend / service dog. She never told me she had other GSD's before so it might not be her, but she could have lied to me bout that also. The fishy part sounds like her though.

Most children with austism do run off. It's one of the main reasons they have the service dogs for these children. These dogs are a true blessing for families with autism child. Their child has no sense of danager they often run away in public settings, in the middle of the night, or if overly stimulated. When they run away they often go towards large bodies of water, into traffic, woods, etc.. Once lost most will not respond when called / nonverbal.

Primary function is to prevent the child from bolting away, provide a calming effect on the child, while safely maintaining the child's more relax control in public. The autistic service dogs are also cross trained in air scenting & trailing in order to locate your lost child. They are taught ways to help distract OCD / self abusive type of behaviors. Service dogs are often tethered to the child to help keep control & prevent run aways.

Their are many needy desperate families out there, so breeders may get calls from families that just can't meet the $ or requirements to get a fully train service dog in their area. I don't want to turn away a true needy family.

It'll be easy to tell this woman her story will just be over the top about her children & life. You'll sense the lies & she'll tell you the most biazzar stories. She lives in apartment in upper state NY. i've already mentioned the weezy voice, etc.

Take care
