I just joined and was very surprised at the attitude concerning donations to a Rescue. Yes it is a 501c3; and like every other Rescu in these times they are hurting. Instead of stray dogs, they are getting owner surrenders, often turned in because the owner could not or did not take care of the animal. Several of the dogs have had heart worms and thus take long periods to recover. All must be checked for behavioral problem, training, crate trained, neutered IF ADULT,
I don't think that holding a fund raising event IS BEGGING; a beautiful quilt if being raffled, and a POKER GAME and DINNER on 9/16 in ATlanta. Maybe checking the site and seeing what this person has done, might make you a little more supportive and understanding. http://www.caninepetrescue.com/ .
Judge Carla Brown, her husband Butch Conaway (Sheriff of Gwinnett County & head of the 2nd chance Program at the Gwinnett County Jail) have dedicated money and countless hours to the BREED. At least 2 pople here need to ask themselves what they have done for the BREED.
