At what age should I start feeding my 7 1/2 month female GSD only once a day?? She 's a solid 70 pounds now, but tends not to eat much in the morning any more.  I feed her Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy dry food mixed with a little quality canned food. I also add Grizzly Salmon oil.

She is Looking Good, But why feed a Puppy or Dog once a Day
Two reasons why i never have in 60 years with Dogs is You give the whole amount of food in one go it blows the Dogs system up, In the end something will give
If however you Feed the same amount of Food for the one meal in two parts Morning and Evening the Dogs system will be more rested and not blown up by the one feed Its digestion will work better and the Dog will not be waiting all day to be Fed
If you do not believe what i say try it on yourself .
Take your Whole anmount of food you eat in one day and leave it all for the evening meal,Eat nothing from the time you get up in the morning until the evening, Then eat all the days food at one Sitting
Do this for a whole week and then say how you really feel I think you will change back from this very quickly indeed
They are Two examples of why not to feed a Dog once a Day

I thought that that was the general feeding pattern. I would rather feed her less, but twice a day. I started morning walks with her, and she has an appetite when we get home. I will continue the feeding pattern that she is on. It's working well for her. She is a healthy and active girl.

Thanks

You have a nice looking shepherd. If pssible try keeping her on two meals/day until she is about 12 mnths,if you can.Shepherds mature late, and it is important that they are fed ,a well banced diet for proper bone and muscle development...
