I was just wondering on when I can expect my female GSD to stop growing in height. She is 7 1/2 months and is a lean 67 pounds. I'm sure she will end up in the mid 70 pound range. What is the general rule here.

Has she had her first heat yet? If she isn't spayed the first heat usually stops them from growing much more. She will fill out and gain weight but she should be about as big as she is going to get. If she is already spayed those hormones are not there to tell her to stop growing and some get a bit leggy. I'd say look at the parents as you can usually tell about what size the pups will be...(except I know a huge GSD whose parents are normal sized. Not sure where he came from). I think you are spot on as to where she will be but it's always a crap shoot as to where they will end up.

She is not in heat yet, so we will see.I do stay in touch with teh breeder, and she says that she should be in teh low to mid 80 pound range based on the parents and her current size. I want her to just be a healthy& athletic dog.
