IT all depends on what type of a dog you are looking for. There is numerous working line kennels out there but even then, only few can work and you need to state what you need the dog for.

Good luck!

It would be for SchH.  want a very high drive, hard grip and not a young puppy, maybe 6 to 12 mo.

Here are a few to start with:

Van Den Heuvel K9  -  http://www.vandenheuvelk9.com/

Kreative Kennels -  http://kreativekennels.com/Our_Stud_Dogs.htm

Alphine K9 - http://www.alpinek9.com/

There are many more top breeders / kennels, if you search for them.
I've purchased from Van Den Heuvel & so very happy with our puppy. Health, temperament, & drive were all excellent. She even was started on basic puppy tracking, knew how to sit, watch, walk on a leash at only 8 weeks old.

I'm purchasing a puppy from Alphine K9, & enjoy wotking with Hans. Sure we'll be just as happy with our future puppy to.

Both breeders are wonderful to work with, very honest, & have quality dogs.

If your going to be paying a decent amount of $ for a older puppy / young adult. You should really go see the puppy for yourselve or at the very least get a lot of videos of the puppy working.

I purchased a older puppy from a well know working breeder. I was told the dog had super high drive, socialized & obedience trained. We got her in horrible condition. She was skin & bones, not socialized at all or trained.
After working with her for 2 months her drives are moderate at best. I paid twice as much for her as I did for my other puppies purchased in the past. just be careful, even if the dog has a good pedigree or comes from a well know breeder.

Good luck

cphudson-

I own a Kreative Kennels GSD and knowing what I know now I wouldnt return and i will leave it at that.

Kathyo,

You were very vague in what you wanted.
What are you looking for in structure/mentality/drive balances/energy level/handler sensitivity levels/territoriality instinct/on-off switch/ personable/ etc.......

Personally i like hans prager @alpine k9 as well. Hans has set up several of the breeding programsere in the US that produce nice working dogs including vandenhuevelk9s mentioned here. His business partner is also the National Breed Warden of Czech. If anyone can find a pup to meet your requirements it would be him. I have had the luxery of meeting him and his business partner jiri and you want find a better pair of men for the job.

www.alpinek9.com
http://www.jinopo.cz/main.php

there are many more however i would seek experienced help if i were in your shoes and i cant think of anyone i would recommend over Hans for procuring a dog. Whether it be from him or him assisting in the procurement of a dog from another kennel he will do right by the dog and you!

Wish you the best of luck in your venture of finding a nice adolescent GSD.

yoshy

thank you for your information, right now I am just starting to research.  I currently have young Female and Male showlines.  My female is a great dog.  She is 16 mo. and she has pretty high drive for a showline.  Her ob is really getting there.  My male is 7 mo. He has great structure his father is V3 Paer Vom Hasenborn. Well he is a young male that is in that funny stage. I think he will do very well.  I have a gentelman in our club that has a male from Van Dan Heuvel he is 5 year old dog and a great dog.

Right now I am just trying to learn as much as I can about the working lines.  It will probalby be a year or two before we are ready for another dog, but I want to learn about lines and kennels of working lines.

Ajay Singh

Thank you,  I looked at your site and read your about page.  I also am a member of United Schutzhund Clubs of America and we are also in the Northwest Region.  I am with Wasatch Hundesport in Utah.  I liked your dogs, as I said above I am just trying to learn about the lines right now, but I will certinly keep your site and dogs in mind when we are ready.

We just had one on May 1st. nothing else until next spring.  We have a DVG club here that will be having a trial in Oct. I think, they are going to try to see if they can get an SV judge so us USA members can trial with them.
