dwarf german shepard dog - Page 1

My newest love is my little dwarf gsd, but alas she has been having some health problems. I read recently on this site someone who also has a dwarf gsd and some of the supplements to use, I am trying to get a hold of that person. At this time my little girl is about 10 weeks old, and I have almost lost her twice. She had and issue with worms from birth that had entered her brain and were giving her seizures, she has since recovered. Our lastest scare has been with her first inoculation, she is still in the hospital as  a precautionary measure, for dehydration. We have done a thyroid test and she is low, so will be starting medication soon. I have done alot of research on pituitary dwarfism and am coming to an understanding of it, I am curious about the DHEA supplements that are being used and what they are used for.

I thought I had one, but in fact she was a preemie (the vet determined that she was about a week premature; breedings had gone on for 6 days). I know a couple people who are familiar with dwarfism. PM me your email addy and I'll send it to them.

I always thought that preemie stuff was baloney, but when my girl's teeth came in a full week later than her siblings', I became a believer.....she was half their size at birth but has grown well and is now their size, maybe a pound lighter at 9 weeks.

It's good of you to raise this dwarf. It won't be easy, though.

You can  text Angie at ********with any questions.Her dwarf is going on 9 years old and is ddoing very well. It took her some time to understand what was needed and not needed  with Suzi but today she has an excellent coat and is very healthy and sound.
