A friend of mine adopted a dog last year through rescue, that had been found wandering the streets. The tattoo in her ear (according to my friend - I have not personally seen it yet) reads:

MA51TC5

I told her the 1 was likely an i, but she says the dog is too young for this to be right, according to USA. I have e-mailed them anyway, but have not heard back from them yet, and thought maybe someone here might could help.

USA has been very helpful whan I have tried to identify a lost dog. Give them a call and explain you are trying to identify a dog through it's tattoo. The region is M and the breeder is IT. They should be able to identify the breeder quickly with this information. Call the breeder and tell them you have dog 5 from their C litter and ask if they will identify the dog and owner. Since the dog was found wandering the streets, there may be someone looking for it.

Since we are on the subject, I have a 4 year old female from Charlottsville, VA that I'm searching for the owner. She went missing about 6 months ago and i have her as of yesterday. She was minutes away from being put to sleep.  I was able to contact the breeder with the tattoo information and USA's help. The breeder is researchig records now. Hopefully a reunion is in the near future for her.
