Do you live in Fl? I have a friend who would be interested in Apollo but we live in New England. I see the requirements for adoption is you have to go in person but do you think they would be willing to adopt to another state if we paid all transportation costs?  I also tried to view the site but those dogs are not coming up...

I PMed you. It's possible some rescue has pulled them, but they'll still be needing homes. Also, sometimes rescues get each other to do home visits, so they might have contacts up your way. I was contacted recently to do a Doxie home visit!

No, but I will try to find out. Maybe I'll have an answer in the morning.

OK. New Beginnings pulled them and they have all been applied for. Thanks so much for asking about them.

Great news!  Thanks for trying to help and also for the update!

I sometimes wonder about how much effort the shelters make to get the dogs out of there. It seems that dogs only get out of jail after a last-minute rescue panic because euthanasia is scheduled for that day. I hate to see any dog sit in those noisy miserable places for days on end, sometimes weeks. Oh well, I guess it's better than dying on the freeway.

Thanks, everyone, for your interest.

When I see stories like this it makes me want to retch. People should be vetted for suitability before they are allowed to get any kind of animal, much the same way as if they were adopting a child.

Here in India dogs are sacred, not allowed to be euthanized, shot, and put to sleep or whatever. This is because of the religious thing. So what happens?

See below for example. I sent this to the local panchayat (local government) no reply.
just be thankful that you do not have this kind of thing in europe/Uk/USA
