hi,
thought you might like a update on heidi in downingtown pa. PLEASE,PLEASE, next time ya want to help a gsd, get all the facts and above all let the people that try to help know they are going to have to deal with a couple of feral cat rescue workers that are completely WHACKO,. i jumped in here the other day trying to help place a gsd that has a very dim future, i was willing to take the dog and see that it lived the rest of it's life in a loving and caring enviorment, i  contacted the woman you said needed help and told her of my desire to help, she put me in touch with another woman who is supposed to have the dog, both these women are cat rescusers, that should have been my warning, i understood that friday was the cut off date for helping this gsd, the woman calls me friday am and leaves a message on my machine that she is so busy she can't call me back until friday night, i cancel previous plans and stay home last night, no phone call, i wait around all day sat. waiting for the call, at 2:30 pm the first woman calls and tells me the other woman was waiting for me to call her back, now remember in her message she said she was going to be too busy to call, i figured if she was that busy she would not think too kindly of me calling her, which i could not do anyway as she didn't leave a number, anyway their story has changed at least 3 times since my first contact with them, at first they claim the gsd has no issues, then they say the dog has issue with other dogs, they told me the dog was raised in a home with 2 other dogs, 2 cats, and 3 children, the last conversation resulted with them telling me the dog has issue with both cat's and dogs, i have a loving home to put this gsd in, a couple in their early '60's who lost their gsd a little over a year ago, wonderful dog lovers, i told them about heidi and they are thrilled, i also informed both of your friends of that fact and told them that if they wanted to meet the couple and see their accomadations, they were free to come anytime during the week or before noon on the weekends as he works night shift at a hospital and went to bed at noon, back now to a few moments ago when cat lady #2 calls, she says she just showed the gsd to a family with kids and a lab, the lab and gsd evidently did not hit it off in the 30 min they were there so they want to bring the gsd down to see my friends, i told her the time was too late as i told her in my prior discussion the gentleman was in bed getting ready to go to work at 6pm. what in the hell are dingbat cat rescuers doing trying to place a gsd for in the first place? and what kind of evaluation can they establish giving 2 dogs 30 mins to get aquainted, which story they are telling is true? i've been a member here for quite awhile, i check this forum everyday, don't ever post unless i have SOMETHING to say, look at my post count, to everyone that reads this i apoligize for the long and boring post, and as i said earlier, i should have known better than get involved with those wacko dingbats that cater to feral cats, now i have to call the couple that were going to offer heidi a happy and better life and tell them , just had to vent, gsd travels, next time you decide to try to help a gsd at least get ALL the fact's.

Sadly, you just learned something that I, as a GSD rescuer, learned long ago. Stories are never as they are first told, and the more people involved, the less likely anything is true. In the end, the dog still pays the price. It also happens when more than one rescue group gets involved......I have learned never to do that and I operate alone, or I am not involved, PERIOD.

Moonlite, I just saw this, I was at work and when I came on,  I was on General Topic.  I spoke to Carol yesterday and she was thrilled after talking to you.  I only posted the info I was given.  I posted her original email to me, I don't know the other lady.  Carol did both dog and cat rescue for years and the dogs got to be too much.  She's really involved in the feral cat thing and I know it becomes a way of life.  Not a life for me, I'm not even a cat person, I like other peoples' cats but don't want one of my own.  I'm sorry if this turned into a fiasco, I was only trying to help.  I gave the info I had and have no way of getting more as I am across the state.  I have not seen the dog and know nothing other than what I was told.  Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it.  Again, I'm sorry for your trouble.

So, where does that put Heidi?  Are they going to visit the potential home sometime at an hour when the couple can meet them?

I don't see the issue, Travels said someone else had the dog and that she did feral cat rescue, how was this a surprise if I, who am not involved know about the situation?

You wanna cry about wasted time??? I had tried finding a home for 12 days, for a dog who's owner changed their mind and took him back. Makes me look the ass having to email and PM people back, saying sorry the dog is no longer available.

I actually got a call from Carol this morning and she has placed Heidi in an ideal home.  A retired police officer is taking her and he has another GSD.  I was in traffic trying to navigate around the marathon to get to work and I was swearing at a cop who wouldn't let me through a barrier, so our conversation was cut short.  I will talk to her later and get all of the details.  I ended up having to park almost 2 miles away and walk in the rain to get there.  Needless to say, I was a bit perturbed but glad I didn't end up in jail!  You really shouldn't swear at a cop, LOL.

You don't look like the ass, 4pack. The moron who couldn't make up her mind about her own dog did. You just look like you cared.

Just wasn't our week for rescues Pack.  I just hope she really means it and keeps him.  Knowing how things go, he'll probably end up back in rescue, ditzy people.  You tried and I agree, you're not the ass.
