Can someone advise me on how proper bite work should...work? I'm pretty sure an independent third party is required (someone unknown to the trainee), is this correct? It seems intuitive to me that the trainee should not do bite work on the owner, or a member of the household to avoid confusion for the dog, right?

In order to avoid training bad habits into your dog, you should start by finding a club in your area and letting them help you train your dog correctly..
