Wow, super!  I am curious about something because I believe in using a variety of methods from force to motivational and things in between.  The caption under the video mentions you are training with a mix of force and reward and I think I am also hearing a clicker?  Would you mind perhaps elaborating on your methods for training the retrieve with this particular dog?  Also what is the pedigree of this very nice young dog?

Hello, the dog in question is Carlsbro x litter

www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/607625.html

He has been doing the dumbbell for about four weeks now, started with teaching to touch, with food and clicker, from that showed him how to hold it calm, with the good old fashioned force method, then back to clicker and food, then for his ball, Hope this helps.

The "mixed" method is known as "The Click & Kick" method!

Whoa - I don't know you "NoCurs", so I am not sure if you are joking or being serious.  I will tell you I too use various training methods including force methods, corrections, marker and motivational but I have never kicked a dog or abused a dog in training.
