Rugers Guru

by Rugers Guru on 27 March 2010 - 06:03

As allot of you know, I was robbed of my best friend; a 1.5 year old German Shepherd on Oct. 30 2007, durring a daytime house robbery. Well.... Today I have him home, IN ONE PIECE!! I have been dilligent in his search even reciently when there was little to no hope of ever seeing my Robbi again. I found an ad on Craigslist for a free GSD. I opened it as I always open any ad with a picture of a GSD, and my jaw hit the floor!! I was in shock. He was older, a little beat up.... But it was HIM!  After an email sent to the poster, we made an appointment to come take a look at him,(have to make sure before I get TOO excited) the man explained to me that the dog was out playing with the neighbor kids, then would not leave their front porch. He had no room for him, so he needed to find him a home. He was very dirty, matted, and had ticks in his eyes, ears, and belly. mind you this is NOT  a rurral area, so someone mistreated this dog.... OR he has been running loose for a very long time. The dog I found was a shell of his former self and a MESS. It looked as though he had been in an accident at some point, had a scar inside his ear and it was not exactly strait, and he has scars on his wrists. All in all he is still a good boy, whatever he has been thru has not affected his trust too much. I cryed when I saw him, My girls bawled when I told them, I am just so happy he is home! He is now on antibiotics, and has had a bath.... He is a happy boy, and I am one happy lady!
Please, if you have ever lost a dog, don't give up. I didn't!

The search for him consumned me for a year and a half, after that I consistantly searched every day or every other day online. My boyfriend likes to go to the shelters and "just look" so I used it as an opportunity to look in their books and in the "back room"
I am so happy! I cannot contain it, but have to be calm around him, because I am really not sure what he has been thru. My daughter wanted to just scream and run up to him, but she is the smart one and told me that its not allowed!! LOL
He is eating well, and he came back in decient weight, however he's blowing coat and looks heavier than he really is.
Here is a picture of my beautiful boy Robbi.
