Can anyone reccomend the best German showlines GSD's? Any helpful suggestions on what to look for would be welcome as well. Also, if you have a breeder link that would be great. Thanks.

Can't say enough good things about the Kirchenwald dogs and breeding program.

What exactly are you looking for in a pup? Do you want to work and do something with your pup or are you just looking for a family companion? There are several decent breeders, but they breed for different things.
Give us specific details and maybe we can help you more.

If you want working ability you should get a working lines dog. They make great pets and have a shot of having working ability, the best showlines suck at working but make good pets.. This forum seems to be dominated mostly by showline people so if you're stuck on a showlines i'm sure they'll steer you towards a dog.

turk, it is up to you what direction you take. It is true that many s/l lack working ability.
What these people do not tell you is that many w/l dogs from very well known kennels also lack working ability.
You decide what you want. It is out there. You have to find it.

Ibrahim, it is Nexx Hartis Bohemia, same dog. Hill line.
I have not seen him personaly, do not know his breeder, but is my response to those who say there is no working (sport) ability left in the s/l. One just has to be willing to put this type s/l dog above "side gait" and accept the placing.
There is no way any dog of any breeding could be more intense.
It is all in what one wants and is willing to accept in placings. I think we will see this dog do well in the next couple of years.
