Fatty #2 is giving birth! - Page 1

I didn't want to hijack the other "fatty" thread, so here's my girl Carmen - she's at day 59, and we're just about to start seeing the pups come out.

Her temp dropped to 98.5 yesterday at 2:30 PM, then was right up under 100 this morning.  Her water broke about an hour ago (that's what you see in the attached picture), and she's clearly having contractions, so it won't be long now.  I'll keep updating as possible, can't wait to post pictures of the pups!!!

Hello World, from the first 2 pups!!!  Pup #1 came out just after I posted the last message, and 12 minutes later #2 joined us.  Both are squirming around just fine, waiting for their siblings to come out!

Oh, how wonderful!  That dam- I would like to know more about her!

 Well it took an hour & 20 minutes in between #2 & #3, but we have our first girl!  The first 2 were males, weighing 620 & 690 grams, and our girl is a healthy 650g.  I know from her X-rays that there are at least 5 pups, and I can definitely still feel movement in there, so more info soon!

The dam is Carmen vom Kraftwerk, and this is her first litter.  She's doing fantastic, cleaning them off and cutting the cords like a champ.  

I was supposed to take the sire Eno up to Indianapolis (about a 2 hour drive) for some schutzhund time today, thank goodness my wife convinced me to wait around.  I thought for sure we'd have to wait until the middle of the night tonight for her to get started.  Carmen's not one to wait around!

And their mom is a beauty, in fabulous condition, I must say. Bet she feels better with all that weight off her back, literally. 

Thanks everyone!  She seems very content, just letting them nurse now.  Still no sign of #4, going on 2 hours since #3, but Carmen doesn't seem to be worried in the least.  Looks like I may be in for a long night after all...
