I am new to this and have been looking for a companion dog. I have a question about German Shepherd puppies. In comparison to other dogs, why are most of these puppies rear feet pointed outward? I am also looking at Dobs, Boxers and Rotts. These other three all have straight legs and feet.
Am I missing something? I mean I do not think it will make them any better or worse but just a question. Is this maybe for running?

nothing yet!
maybe I should mention my last GS female was from the Netherlands. Working line and very straight front and rear. She was not titled but I did get her obedience trained and she was real good girl.
