My female is at day 40. I took he to the Vet at day 29 and they told me they were 95% sure she was pregnant, They seen Sacs with Fluid but at this time no heartbeat yet she goes the Vet again on day 50 for Xray. I was wondering does sacs in the fluid could that a sign of false pregnancy..She doesn't seem to be getting real big at this stage just a medium size pouch and nipples are swollen...what do you think?

My pregnant bitch is at day 48, and we just had her X-Rayed 2 days ago.  Confirmed at least 5 pups, but hard to tell if there are more being in 2D.  She's due on the 18th and it's coming up quickly!  Congrats on your litter, I hope there aren't 12 in there!

Thank You for all the replies..I am so excited. She is on day 49 and we are doing Xrays on day 51 or 52..She seems to be happy..Shes wanting her body and legs massaged all the time.. We go for short walks due to she is panting alot just going to the mailbox and back..so we just relax.. I was reading about Vanilla Ice Cream? Never heard of that..But I see that it works for a Bitch with large breeds what is your intake on that...Also very nervous for her..She is my big baby...Her belly is hanging low and 10 nipples..I am also taking time off work when its time for the puppies to come so I can make sure that I am there with her should she need me or should the pups need me..I am building Whelping Box this weekend. She pretty much sleeps where ever her favorite items are so I should have no problem...OMG I can't wait AND I hope everything is good..

I used vanilla ice cream when my bitch was in the first stages of labor. The calcium is suposed to help get the contractions going. I gave her some and 1/2 hr later we had strong contractions and first pup. I also gave her raspberry leaves extract. Also meant to help with contractions. Her first litter and she did fantastic.  Do a google search for whelping temperature chart. Find one you like and print that out. I also found a nice whelping chart to keep track of each puppy (time, weight, color, sex). I had also put her on one of K9Powers supplements, Puppy gold, prior to breeding her. She stayed on that thru the pregnancy, nursing, and weaning. She looked fantastic all thru the pregnancy, nursing, weaning. Good luck and hope all goes well.

dmsharkey, can I ask you about the raspberry leaves extract - ie how much do you give, how often and starting when?  I am not sure if I can get hold of it anyway, but just in case this would be useful to know.  I have a pregnant female who last time had problems, after the first two puppies she seemed to stop having contractions for very long periods and we lost two puppies out of five due to things taking too long..  She is due again in about 3 weeks and I would like to do all possible to help things go smoothly.    Lovely photo of your mum and pups, she does look really healthy.  Will bear in mind the ice cream idea too...
