Is a breed association in existence to run shows or is it in existence to safeguard the future of the breed?

BDGSDA's decision to sign the undertaking is, in my opinion, unconstitutional.

If you look at the Income Statement of the Association then yes, it would appear to need the obedience show but it is not supposed to be a profit making organisation and it is supposed to look after the breed - at the moment it is just a facade for an obedience show and none of the remaining committee care about anything other than what they get out of running the obedience show.

Anyway, for those worried about it's profit, it should make more in future as it looks doubtful it will have any future loss making breed shows.....

To put this as clear as spring water - Shirley says above....

none of the remaining committee care about anything other than what they get out of running the obedience show.

This was actually said to me, by the general secretary with the nod of the chairperson, when I informed her at the end of the meeting last evening, that due to the way in which the AGM had been handled on this important issue, I felt I had to resign from the EC.

We Have Not Resigned From B`ham & Dist  (yet)   as people walking away in this extrordinary situation are giving in to the people who want to stagnate  and make money.

Mo, Shirl & Zep - Im sure that it is easier to change things from within and that there are more ways to kill a cat than choke it on butter.  The KCs actions here are down right despicable not to mention the so called members who have no interest in showing or the breed (GSD's).  My concern now is that if the club go ahead and sign away their rights, what of the future? are the rights signed away for ever? ( No good asking the KC - as you probably wont get an answer) if so then Im sure that you and those that support the GSD will find your membership untennable.  Good luck , you have our support.
