I have a female 17 week GSD. She has not started teething yet.  One ear is always up and the other comes up from time to time.  Her mother had larger ears than the normal, so I'm sure that might have something to do with it. Should I be worried?? She get's plenty of chew toys, great diet, and seems to be healthy.(42 pounds) I'm waiting for parasite results to come in. At what  point should I really consider taping the ears??

At 17 weeks one of my pups was the same way.  One ear was up and the other one was also "time to time."    The breeder told me to leave them alone and very soon after 17 weeks that second ear stayed up, and her ears are perfect.  But I was worried there for awhile.  If your puppy's parents, grandparents, and siblings have good ears, I wouldn't worry.  Your breeder should know if this timeline is normal for this dog.

4-5 months (16-20 weeks) is normal range for teething, so things should start happening soon.

My boy Blitz had ear issues.  The one ear layed the smae way for about 2 weeks and didn't change so i took him to the vet  and we taped it because it was getting a crease in it from laying on top of his head, he was 5 months, now his ears are up and beautiful.  He also has huge ears too!  I wouldn't worry until that one ear stops going up and stays in one position for any amount of time.
