Hi Frank,,respect to you for your pointing that out,,,,but i cant see the kc doing anything about it,,,why???  I reported that my dogs hips were off the scales,i found out when she was just 4mths old(i pushed to get her xrayed because i knew she wasnt right). I asked the kc to make the other owners aware of advanced HD in their pups blood lines because my dog was 1 of 12 out the litter.. I was told they would put a note on my dogs records but would not inform any of the other owners in case it caused mass hysteria!  WTF is that all about? care about animals my arse,, I do hope if there is a mass majority of people gonna step forward and complain together they might stand a chance of gettin somewhere. oh I am too long in the tooth and have come to blows with the Kennel Club to be surprised by anything they get up to.....or not as is the case.

All they are interested in is money from all the 'schemes' they have going, and 'schemes' should read 'scams'!

I did post on the other thread with regards to their recent scam....the ABS

I quote myself:

This is why the ABS will fail as it does not do a proper background check nor visits the home BEFORE accepting the application. Takes the money and be done with it! Another stealth income for the good ole' KC.....who claim they are there to assist the breeders but whoa betide anyone from actually asking for help....oh no! the KC can't do that, they just sit on the fence and applaud when our money rolls in.

They are not interested in hard facts when it comes to the welfare and health of the animals being bred from but they do require hard facts when one asks for their help and the majority of the time they will direct one to the Dog Law phone helpline which charges god knows how much per minute and it is a fat lot of use either.
Years ago I had to get a Court to order the KC to alter a registration for me... I was the breeder/owner of said dog but still had to pay to get a Judge to write on a scrawny piece of paper the KC were to abide by and it still took another 7 months to achieve.
Ridiculous, if you ask me.

Sorry I get all worked up when discussing the KC and their non helpful ways.
I think it is disgusting the way they are treating not only the GSD but many other breeds and in particular the breeders.

Sorry to hear about your GSD. My male has bad elbows at the age on  12 mnths and has started to limp on his right leg if he plays to hard.. I made my complaints to the breeder and I remember she said she has never had any problems with her dogs.. She is a well know Breeder in Waycross GA and i wish she would stop breeding bad dogs!!!!

Sorry to hear that DuvalGSD,they dont listen to the people with the suffering dogs,,if just all about the money to them(as far as i can tell ).. ur so right frank,, They annoy the hell out of me with there money making ways,,in the beggining the KC was meant to be about the animals,,what happened???  Gx

DuvalGSD does this breeder of yours have a history with evidence of breeding 'bad dogs' with health problems or is yours the first case or do you not know about any more?
This type of thing annoys me for two reasons:
Firstly, if the Breeder has a reputation for breeding consistantly unhealthy dogs then I agree this should stop.
Secondly, if this is the first case of a 'bad dog' then  surely the statement which you made, and I quote  She is a well know Breeder in Waycross GA and i wish she would stop breeding bad dogs!!!!
Then this statement is wholly wrong.

Sometimes a dog with bad hips or elbows just crops up in a litter. One can health test as much as one wants but they can only be guidelines and the knowledge of the breeder has to come into play. Knowing ones lines, what each dog in the pedigree produces, their siblings produce, Uncles, Aunts etc etc It is not simply  the case of taking two dogs with great scores and shoving them together and hoping they will be ok.
A lot of effort goes into choosing the right dog for the right bitch.....well there should be and I know that ethical breeders do this.
Breeders get a lot of flack when one of their puppies portrays something wrong...it may be the only one they have had but to the puppy owner it is the end of the world and the Breeder is the worst person on the planet. Maybe it is true that this breeder has never had this before.....but what I would say is that without hearing the full two sides of the story, she should have been more sympathetic and been a tad more interested mainly because it is her breeding and just because the puppy is sold on to a pet home does not mean the breeder should forget out it......a good Breeder is available for the life of the puppy not just the first 8 weeks!

Making a sweeping statement about it is all about the money is very unfair, especially to breeders who do NOT do it for the money. Sure, the money from the excess puppies does go towards feeding, Vets bills, travelling, show entries etc but it does not stretch THAT far.
Breeding is a way of life, if one does it for the money then they are in the wrong game.
A good breeder will not make a 'profit' from a litter but with a little luck will make up a Champion!!!

I think there is wrong in both camps, owners and breeders alike and in this day and age there is enough battles going on within this breed without good Breeders being tarnished with the bad.
