Hi,
My german shepherd bitch is 11 months old and has been on royal canin junior ever since i got her at 8 weeks old. She is a slender dog but not underweight and very energetic. My question is, when would be the right time to change her to the Royal Canin adult food?.
I have tried a few times to introduce this but she does not seem to like the bigger pieces and i am concerned that i am maybe leaving her on the junior for too long.
Also, although she does eat her food, she never really seems to enjoy it and it quite often gets left in the bowl for ages which sometimes means me throwing some away and giving her a fresh portion.. Is she just a fussy eater or should i consider a change.
Thank you in advance for your replies.

Is the fussiness new?  Right around 10 mos. my female needed to have her portions cut back by about a third, she just didn't need the extra food for growing by that point.  I don't feed kibble so I can help with the brand and adult vs. puppy..  maybe someone else will comment on that for you!

Thank you Heather,
she has always been a bit fussy and has never really ever eaten her meals completely at feeding time. My 12 year old shepherd stands along side her and clears her bowl in 2 mins flat but she seems to wait until the older dog has eaten before starting to eat and even then she eats very slowly and without enthusiasm, this has been the case since i got her and although she does eventually finish her meal, something tells me she does not really enjoy her food.

have yu tried feeding her raw.ie .raw mince, beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, rabbit pork etc.ive never been keen on complete(kibble)and when one of mine developed a skin allergic reaction tto the complete,i switch to raw and have never looked back.there are several sites yu can view for info. on how to start.

Noddi
I have noticed on these forums that a lot of people feed a raw diet and i will certainly have a look at that. I am happy to try anything if it means she enjoys her food more. Thank you
