Hailey, Just curious. Did you get a Zoomback, for when you find the dog?

by Halley 7 on 14 February 2010 - 16:02

Thank you mystere, I will most definitley hunt that company down, money is no object when it comes to finding her.  We have researched zoomback on the internet and WILL be purchasing it.  The lab did come back a few hours later.  The neighbors are searching as well.  Thank you very very very much.

Enrolled in findmydoggie.com, We got 2 phonecalls almost immediatley after we signed up.  One of the phonecalls was from a lady who lives 2 miles away said she saw her, we went to her house and showed her a another pic just to make sure it was her and she said she was positive it was.  We searched and called for her for several hours, but no luck.  We are remainig hopeful, thank you again mystere for telling me about the website.  I have also took shirts that belong to us and hung one off the back deck, another one out on the pivot in the field, another one way out in the tree's and hung her blanket on the front porch.  Hoping she picks up on our scent and comes home safely.  Thank you again.

Well, at least you had some promising news!  When was she spotted?  I would keep searching that area and put fliers around there also.  When I see that you've posted, I'm excited and scared for you all at the same time,  I'm really hoping you find her and that she's okay.  If she was seen in a neighborhood, maybe someone took her in.  Best of luck, don't give up.

That sounds like good news!  I hope you find her soon or she comes back on her own.  She doesn't seem to be that far away.  When she gets back just give her a big hug!

Poor thing, I hope she gets home safe! I have lost a dog too, my very first dog ever. She was put 'out' by my mom when I was a teen-ager the night before my 16th birthday, & never came back. We did find her, tho'.........she had been hit by a car. She was an Irish Setter mix, a silly, sweet girl named Daisy. I spent my 16th birthday at the vets, sitting with her, pointing out to him how pale her gums were getting. When it was time for his office to close, he made me take her back home, & she died that night, after going completely insane & tearing apart an old metal Electrolux vacuum cleaner that she always hated. She bit through the metal upright in 3 places (completely through, severing it!!), probably from the increasing intercranial pressure. I will always hold a grudge against that vet for not euthanizing her, letting her suffer that way, not to mention the fact that me, my mom, & my 3 little brothers spent the night with her barred in the kitchen, going ballistic. We were terrified to go back into the kitchen in the morning, & of course I was so angry with my poor mother, who kept me from going into the kitchen to be with her, probably saving me from being ripped to shreds, too. Of course she was gone, & we buried her in the flower garden, & it took weeks before the kitchen was the same again. But that was back in the day, everyone let their dogs 'out'. But it left me a permanent spazz about loose dogs, I just can't do it. They must be on a leash, or  behind a fence, or I'm a wreck. I hope she comes back intact, nobody deserves to go through anything like that.       jackie harris

Put some shirts that you've worn a lot (sleep in them, don't wash them) in the place where she's been spotted.  Your scent may keep her in that area.

Hope to hear good news from you soon.
