Is there really a point in bumping this every day? I too hope the dog is found, but I have to think that if the owner finds the dog, we'll hear about it. I don't want to be told day after day after day that the search is pulling up nothing. Do you know what I mean? I don't want to be negative AT ALL...I just hope one day to see this thread with something IN IT.

Just trying to be supportive.  I would hate to be in her shoes.  Can't even imagine what it would be like.  Don't want to think about it happening with me and my Echo.

I know, Debi, you're so nice. :) You've been a good friend to Halley7, hope she knows it.

I do appreciate all of your support and encouragement.  I will never forget what all of you have done for me.

Dogs turned loose in "the country" face almost impossible odds.  Most states allow dogs which chase deer to be shot. Dogs in the field with livestock can be shot if the farmer "feels" the dog is threatening them. They can get into poison. They get hit by cars. They get stolen. They get put in shelters where the owners don't look.  The list goes on.

I sure as hell hope you find your dog, but I also hope like hell you have learned from this and do not revert to "I live in the country" mode if and when you get another dog.

Shelters are FULL of dogs who "never leave their yard" let alone dogs which the owner knows chases deer  and visits neighboring homes.  Very sad.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that this helps get Halley home.

Boldogkennel, Good people do make mistakes you know. If you don't have anything good to say don't say it.  mama said.
Here you have a person who loves her dog and allows it to run free because she felt her baby deserved it and earned the right because she is a good girl who doesnt go anywhere. Now this one time for reasons unknown she did not come back and all the monday quarterbacks are chiming in. If your dog always needs to be on a leash or inside a fenced yard then I feel sorry for that dog and if you do allow your dog to roam around your house then the chances of this happening to any of us is a possibilty.
