There is a new interview from Koos released 1/27/2010. It is titled, "A word from Koos Hassing". It has a part one and a part two. It presents a picture of the breed today. It is from a reknowned breeder, who has produced and provided dogs internationally at the highest levels for 25 years. I have given up projecting my views on the breed here, but it sure is gratifying to hear someone of his statue echo the same sentiments. Either way it is very informative. If you google Koos you can pull it up and I think Von Forell Kennels may have it also.

Thanks for the info, Gustav... and Hi, hope you're well.

This is the part that gets to me:

"Another aspect the so called training lines have to live with is the fact that through much improved training techniques (in itself a very admirable accomplishment) dogs who do not have any social aggression or the necessary hardness of a working dog anymore can still be trained excellently by experts with any number of training aides. "

We see this every single day...people figuring out ways to get poor quality dogs to do the work. That right there is why titles don't mean squat to me any more, unless I see the dog work (or someone I trust does).

That is something Ivan Balabanov has stated too. A good trainer or helper setup can make any dog look better than it is. Ivan admits that even he can be fooled on occasion by a video.

Tiekerhook kennesl has it posted:  www.tiekerhook.com/index.php/usa-tiekerhook-usa/74-interview-with-koos-hassing.html

I agree 100% with what he's saying.  I may not have the hands-on experience many of you have, but if you really study the history of the breed, it's not difficult to see what has happened to it.

I couldn’t find part 1 either, I found part 2 and 3.  Excellent read and so true!!!!   It’s not difficult to see at all.
Thanks for posting it.
