Everytime i see this video i get goose bumps... i love Arex... Judging a German Shepherd by Character, his working ability and his overall balance is what is needed. Judging him by his color, it ain't right at all.
I hope all of you, who haven't seen this video would enjoy it as much as i do everytime.

I'm no expert, why does his back sort of squiggle when he moves? My dog does not have the same reach but his back remains level and firm when he moves.

Liesjers, I'm pretty sure you can put that down to the bad quality of the video.
It's not so much his reach but the speed of travel whilst maintaining such a balanced untroubled gait. Impressive.
Good 'ol Timo

I know Arex and his owners.
Here is their homepage, not in English though: www.vom-herbramer-wald.de/index.htm
The best Arex offspring in my opinion is Tinka von den Paderquellen. I know her too and told her breeder that she can be sent my way when he does not want her anymore, lol.
Here is a photo which I personally took of him at the 2007 German Sieger Show. Guido (the handler) stacked him for me but unfortunately, it is a bit far away.

I like how he looks stacked and I LOVE Timo, but I dunno, there's just something about his back that looks...wrong.

Hello Liesjers
I felt the same when i saw the video, thought that there was something up with his back (only in this video).
However if you look at the string of videos abt him, its just cleared my doubt that this boy is strong and beautiful. The way he moves in the ring...the flow of his movement, more than that i guess the sense of balance he has while moving so fast is outstanding.
He is for sure a good looking sable dog.
