I do not typically use an E collar and none of mine are using one currently. However, I had a very, very hard female come in that I think would be a good candidate for one. Can those experienced with these collars recommend the best to buy? I want one that will not cost an arm and a leg, but will also not break or quit working within a month. I don't mind spending a few hundred, just not looking to spend $500. I'd prefer to stay around $200 - $300 or less. Thanks.

Is humor allowed? I'm just a terrible person tonight...

This method worked like a charm with my 2 human boys....hold a .38 on 'em while you're beating them with an extention cord.
It really got their attention.
so sorry.

the Dogtra 2300 is a versatile collar with a higher end on the power it runs $299 or the 280 is just a little over $200 or the new 300 model is $200 it does not have the power of the other two but  has a smaller reciever and remote

I like my dogtra 282 ncp. 2 collar system

batteries last a long time.
127 different stimili settings.
pager, nic, continous functions
1/2-3/4 mile range
water proof.

I love mine. for soft to upper medium dogs. 99% of dogs fit in this catagory.

Please have someone with experience / professional with good track record to show you how to use it, if you pursue this avenue of training and or plan to use this tool.

I have the Dogtra 1900 ncp and it works great.  Like the poster stated 1-127 stim levels with a screen which displays the stim level.  Has a pager ( vibration ) setting which I like.  1/2 mile range and waterproof.  Holds a charge for along time.

Tri-tronics makes the best e-collar IMO.  The basic model will cost you about $240, and will do anything you need.  I also have a Dogtra, and it is junk.  Tri-tronics make good, tough collars, that hold up in the rain and hard weather.

I only recommend Tri-tronics.  Every time a client has purchased a different collar they have had trouble or been disappointed with their purchase.

I really like Dogtra collars.  You can have them customize the 280 with 2 receivers calibrated to the one transmitter.

Thank you everyone. It is interesting to see such a split of opinions on the Dogtra collars. For those who do not like them, can you explain why? Why about the Dogtra was unsatisfactory to you? Thanks.
