I bet I read every single thread under the German Shepherd tab while deployed before I bought this little devil lol. SOME of ya'll seem to have a good grasp of whats going on ha. I have had this little guy about 3 1/2 months now. Try not to rip into him or myself to much. I'm not the best photographer and its almost always just me and him whenever the camera is out so forgive my poor dog photographer skills.

I know I don't have many great angles on him but ill work on it.
But, about 6 months in these 3

most recent .... just over 6 months

Getting a good picture of him could be about the most frustrating thing I've ever tried to do! He doesn't know what the heck is going on obviously!!! ( I suppose I cant complain that he's always intensely watching me :) )
My main concerns at this point would be his size and structure ( gave you about 0 pictures to help me out with structure i know...) I feel like he may be a little on the smaller side.... and probably the lighter side although I've read gsd's alot of time keep themselves on the thin side and wont fill out completely until around 2 years?
Also I have been mulling over the idea to switch him to a raw diet at some point... opinions on that?
Thanks everyone

Very cute pup! I too love the baby pic, can't get much cuter! I wouldn't worry about his size, he'll fill out fine. Beautiful head. As far as feeding, I'd feed raw if I could afford it but right now the money is tight. I'm feeding Taste of the Wild now. If you don't go raw, research and just make sure you have him on a quality kibble and he'll be fine.

Very nice puppy!!! Excellent pedigree too!
My workingline male is also small. He is about 63 pounds. But FAST! He also is naturally thin. People who don't know any better tell me he's skinny, and ask if he's a purebred LOL
My dogs that are on raw are doing excellent. I have seen an improvement in coat, skin, teeth and stool.
With one dog it can be very cheap to feed raw. Especially if you can find a small meat market that will sell you their scraps cheap, or even GIVE them to you.
Best of Luck with your pup!

thanks for the responses. I have a pet and feed store near my house and i know they sell raw food. Ill have to stop in and check out prices... if i had to guess right now id say he weighs about 50-65 (i know he was about 45 pounds 2 months ago and he's grown a bit since then) pounds at 7 months... he just looks skinny maybe lol

You don't want him fat, he looks to be in great shape. Are you feeding him puppy food? If so, switch to adult food to avoid him growing too big too fast. I feed Canadaie Four Meats All Stages. It's lower in protein so he won't have a huge growth spurt as long as you don't over feed. He is a nice looking pup. Enjoy him!

He's a beautiful pup.
I have 3 resident dogs now. The dry chow I feed them is Call of the Wild-Salmon.
I suppliment their diet with vension (because I have a good hunter here) apples from our trees and sweet potatoes. They also get regular non sweetened yogurt mixed in a couple times a week.
Our pack ranges in age from 2 yrs to 11. Two Goldens and one GSD.

DebiSue:
I have had him eating adult food for a little while now. (Royal Canin) He eats it no problem and it seems as if it works well with him. He has a lot of drive (ball and frisbee as well as food/treats of course and would run hard from sun up to sun down if I let him. But still manages to tone it down back inside.
