questions about 13.5 week old sable pup - Page 1

A few more questions on Lexey.  Shes been here now 3.5 weeks. She seems to have adjusted fine.  The main problems I'm having with her is her nipping at my hands and feet, and she constantly is having loose stools. She has her second set of shots and de worming, (she did not have worms, but gave anyway).  The vet gave me an anti-biotic to give her, but I don't think that is the problem.  She eats about 3-3.5 cups per day dry, with two spoonfuls of wet mixed, per her vet.  She is a bit under weight.  She weighed 10.2lbs at 10 weeks, she is now as of today 17.2lbs.  What is her ideal weight at 14 weeks.

She may have loose stools because you are over feeding her, She has put on 5lbs in just 2 weeks -- That is a lot of weight for a puppy to put on in that time, 3 - 3.5 cups sounds like a lot of food..

As for the biting of your hands and feet she will grow out of that in a few months. I feel for you because I also have a female that is 12 weeks old doing exactly the same thing ---- I just can't wait until she has her adult teeth.
