I get quite a few calls and e-mails from  people wanting to buy  pups from reputable breeders.
Its hard to point them in the right direction. I don't breed often and it would be nice to be able to help them find what they are looking for.
If any of you can meet the criteria below then please e-mail me at
t.meynell@ntlworld.com with the litter details as I am thinking of starting a site specifically for this purpose.

HD no more than 19 in total (with no more than 12 on one side.)
ED must be 00
Haemoplilia (males)  must be clear
puppy's MUST be endorsed and tattooed or microchiped

I will not recommend litters that are from parents that do not conform to the breed standards IE blues livers whites etc.

Hi Tigermouse

Thats a great title for a website - set it up for people wanting good quality puppies with all health checks in place.... great idea.  you could be that "registration system" that we so badly need. I`d pay a fee to go on that site, and you could use it, donate it to Welfare, or whatever,   Forget the KC list of breeders with purple start by their names because they have paid their £15  -  go to Tigermouse site  Responsible Breeders UK - and get a puppy from people interested in health and providing a good puppy for people wanting them.

Well done...    Mo.

Shouldn't some kind of "temperament test" be included in one of your criteria under responsible breeding/ ers?

You also have to remember that anyone using a German dog (In Germany) show or working line will not be able to fulfill the Haemophilia requirement as they do not test over there

Great idea Tigermouse !.

Hi i am  woondering if i may  qualify.to advertise my litter
my female is hip scored and as low bva score but my vet
only does hips so when puppies go to new home's she will go
to an other vet to have elbow done.sire is hip and elbow scored
and Haemophilia tested A  clear.please can you advice me.
                            thank you Rachel

Rachel I would change your vet. I didn't know vets could or would refuse to do elbow xrays. You could always have the elbows done as soon as your bitch comes off her litter when they are around 5/6 weeks, you might not receive your score before your puppies are sold but the vet might be able to tell you if they were okay at the time they were xrayed. I think Tigermouse is meaning that both parents should be xrayed, perhaps she should make her post a little clearer.

My male not only meets the above criteria but exceeds it in that he has had a clear eye test every year and he also has a Class 1 Breed Survey on top of his Schutzhund and Working Trials qualifications and AD

Hi everyone.  Thank you for all your replies to date. I am using a friends computer to do this post as mine has crashed this afternoon and won't be back in service until tomorrow evening when the PC man has fixed it. Sorry for any inconvenience , I will answer everyone as soon as back on line.

Penny ( Mo ).  Thank you for your post and encouragement, much appreciated !.

CAROL.  Good point thank you and Yes I am aware of the situation with using stud dogs on the continent which will be fine.  My initial post was only in brief to see if there was enough interest.

Wolfberry.  Temperament /character comes within breed survey's which would of course be an added box ticked.

Rachel.   Petowner was right in saying that both parents need to be scored, sorry I didn't make that clear. Good luck with the elbow scores.

Petowner.  Thanks to you too.

Langhaar.  At the moment it is only reputable litters that will be advertised. The addition of stud dogs may be possible later.

Bye for now Tracie.

by petowner on 18 January 2010 - 20:01

Sorry about your computer Tracie, hope you get it fixed tomorrow.  It would be a good idea to add a stud dog page if you get enough interest.  Langhaar there are quite a lot of dogs that exceed your males criteria, is your males breed survey the Koerung survey Kkl.1. ?.
