I have a litter that is already started on the scent box, super bite, showing territorial defense and is a repeat breeding.  Two pups already with police dog trainers.  They work.  Not for the novice handler.  These are very easy dogs to train but do need a calm and sensible approach.  Now 7 months old.

Dog and children social and absolutely environmentally sound.  Street exposure, etc, etc.

Check with eichenluft here on the pdb.  She has some really well-bred litters.

Idog,

I see Quax in the pedigree you listed. He is in my male's pedigree also. What do you know about him? Thanks,

Mike

You can contact Steve Simpkins at Haussimpkins.com he usually has access to some nice "working dog". When I say working I mean true working dogs and not sport dogs. Most of their dogs go to private sec firms and departments. They do not list their litters on thier website on regular basis so you should e-mail him. They got some of the nices working dogs I seen in a while.

If you want a police dog, then go w/a breeder who has dogs who regularly are used to produce police dogs- NOT SPORT DOGS.

I won't say anything for or against any of the suggestions already posted...but keep this point in mind. If that's what you want, go to the proper source to get it. Don't think you can train them into it if it isn't there genetically. Sport dogs and PSDs are NOT necessarily the same, unfortunately.

Its difficult to say that one line in particular excels at police work. Many dogs arent given the opportunity to excel because of poor training, poor handling, etc. Some police dogs arent registered as well. Not all police dogs are used in the same way and deployment protocols can vary between jurisdictions.

You have to find a trainer that hopefully breeds at least some of the dogs they sell and who are known to consistently produce and train EXCELLENT police dogs not just a lot of police dogs.

Smith, I would really consider Melanie's litter!!!!

I am in line for a puppy from the Wildhaus "I" litter I posted...which should be awesome, and I am very happy with my choice,  but the "G" litter from Wlidhaus was sired by her dog Andy, and I am still sick I didn't get one of those pups!

Mike D, I am not studied enough on Quax to offer any insight of value.  My experience is more first hand, and the Andy Maly Vah puppies I have exposure to are very nice dogs.
